Self Defense Workshop 2014
QCJ held its first Self Defence Workshop in May of 2014, bringing together a group of lesbian, bisexual women and trans person who were educated on ways to navigate Jamaica's justice system, being aware of the dangers in the cyber world and hands on techniques in self defence. |
Sexual Offences Act 2009 Review
In 2014 the Sexual Offence Act (SOA) 2009, became due for a review. A group of organisations and individuals came together under the name VERJ to make a joint submission to Parliament. WRrDE 2015 & 2016
(Womyn for Reproductive Rights, self-Determination and Empowerment Workshop ) QCJ along with Advocates for Youth following the 3R’s concept of Rights, Respect and Responsibility will embark on a project to educate, empower and influence 11 lesbian and bisexual womyn to be Peer Influencers. These young women, took the knowledge garnered from this training and empowered and influenced over 160 lesbian and bisexual women. |
