Mission Statement
QCJ is dedicated to improving the quality of lives for lesbian, bisexual women and trans persons by creating a safe space in which they can share emotional, social and other issues they are facing without fear or judgement and equipping them with knowledge and understanding to navigate the Jamaican society. |
Vision
Foster the enhancement of healthcare, including mental health, for lesbian, bisexual and women who have sex with other women in Jamaica and increase LGBT youth participation in all spheres of youth activity; bringing awareness to our constituents on matters of health, HIV and human rights. |
Values
Our name Quality of Citizenship Jamaica represents our stance that all citizens of Jamaica deserve to be treated as equals within the society. To that end QCJ works with and for the entire LGBT community. In the past year we have organized seven stands calling for respect, tolerance, support and non-violence for the entire LGBT community. Our largest stand was in July for Dwayne ‘Gully Queen’ Jones, the trans* teen who was brutally murdered by a mob at a dance in St. James.
